| About this site / send an email Volhynia.com went online in January 2006, made up primarily of material that I have had on other websites starting in 1997. Much more material will be added in the weeks and months to come as I draw from the photos and documents that I have gathered during my trips to Volhynia and Poland. The site is designed to complement existing websites, not replace them. Much of the material that will be found here will not be found on other sites. If you have a website of Volhynian interest, please send the URL to me and I will place it on my links page. I have collected extensive information on the German Baptist colonies in the Neudorf area of Volhynia, in the Ukraine. My personal family tree includes names such as Weiss, Scheffler, Tiedtke, Reschke, Tiede, Menzel, Hartmann, Schindler, and Boehnert. Villages include Iwanowitsch, Solodyri, Pulin, Neudorf, Florowka, Skolobow, Rogowka, and Wjasowitz; all are near Zhitomir. My Volhynian ancestors went there in the 1860s. They had lived in East Prussia, Posen and Poland. Specific towns include Albrechtsdorf, Bartenstein, and Pr. Eylau, in East Prussia (Ostpreussen); Nakel and Bromberg in Posen; and Dabie, Drzewce, Lodz and Konigsbach in Poland. My other websites are: Thanks for looking. Click here to send an email.
